The good news is we finally got the notice to proceed with our wheel project.
Unfortunately, it is at the end of the construction season. This will put us off for another year before we can finish the whole project. It is very frustrating, but the positive side is that our contractor will have the entire season to work with.
The Nenana needs your voice again! The FNSB does not want to accept the $500,000 appropriation we secured through the Saving America’s Treasures Grant because it has a 15-year maintenance clause attached.
This money must be used to paint the boat to prevent wood rot from all the exposed wood. By not accepting these funds to repair the boat, they are dooming future assembly members to come up with millions of dollars in repairs, or, at worst, condemning her to be demolished.
Please tell the assembly to agree to accept this money.
